Add a family member
Let's add a few of the people who make your family yours. We'll start with a spouse, then add a child, one little branch at a time.
1 · Open Family Tree
Once you've accepted your invitation and signed in, you're ready to get started. Choose Family Tree from the menu. On your phone, open the menu first.
2 · Select your leaf
First, choose your own leaf. Just one click. We're using Daniel's family for this example, so we'll start with Daniel Wilson.
3 · Find the family controls
Just below the tree, you'll find a few ways to grow your family. Let's choose Add spouse, and give Anna a place beside Daniel.
4 · Enter their details
We'll enter Anna Wilson here, and check that the relationship says Spouse. Don't worry about filling in every detail now. You can come back for photos and stories later.
5 · Save the new leaf
When you're ready, choose Add to Tree at the bottom of the form. And there she is. Anna now has a leaf beside Daniel.
6 · Add a child
Now let's add their son, Lucas. Choose Daniel's leaf again, then Add child, just below the tree.
7 · Connect both parents
Enter Lucas's name. Here's the important part: choose his other parent, too. Anna is near the top of the list, so we'll select her. For your family, choose the person who is this child's other parent.
8 · Save the child
Choose Add to Tree, and Lucas is connected to both parents. You can do the same for each of your children, whenever you're ready.

There they are. Daniel, Anna, and Lucas, all together on their little branch of the family tree.
Already in the tree?
Already see someone in the tree? Choose Connect, so they keep the leaf they already have. If you can't find these controls, select your own leaf, or ask your family admin to help.
Every branch belongs.
That's a lovely start. Nobody needs an account for you to add their leaf. Your family admin can invite them later. For now, you've made a place for them, and for the memories you'll share together.
